Pre-Job
Apprentices
New BAC apprentices get critical job preparation
skills through the IMI pre-job training programs.
Along with craft-specific technical and hands-on
training, they learn health and safety, workplace
skills, and cross-craft familiarization in all the
BAC crafts. When they complete the IMI program, they
are ready to produce on the jobsite.

Apprentices
Skilled BAC craftworkers begin their careers as
apprentices through their local Joint Apprentice
and Training Committees (JATC’s). Apprenticeships
typically last 3-4 years, during which apprentices
receive classroom, shop, and on-the-job-training.
Much of that training is provided by IMI at its regional
and area training centers, as well as The Flynn Center in Maryland.
